Traditional college town neighborhoods

We always are interested in promoting life in traditional college town neighborhoods. If your neighborhood has a web page describing its character and the things it offers, let us know about it. If you do not have a neighborhood web site, send a word document of 800 words or less (be sure to include your neighborhood's name, and a contact address or phone number) describing what's great about your neighborhood to the editor. CollegeTownLife will provide your association with a web page

CollegeTownLife will add you to the list. There is no charge associated with listings submitted from a certified college town neighborhood.

Welcome to our college town

CollegeTownLife offers listings on this page to college towns/cities interested in putting information on their community before the public. If your community would like to be listed, you will need to have a web page we can link to.

CollegeTownLife suggests that linking page provide information on your town's

  • quality of life (testimonials are good;also links to information on recreation, sports, culture, festivals; k-12 schools; community foundations; green space preservation)
  • home ownership incentives, if you city or university offer options to make home ownership more affordable, be certain to describe them
  • business climate, small business development resources, economic development plans
  • employment opportunities (also does your university college offer faculty/staff/family fee waivers for university courses)
  • links to your university's web site, cultural and sporting events sites

Institutes for Learning in Retirement
Listings for Institutes for Learning in Retirement (ILRs) are offered without charge to groups affiliated with a college or university. These will be included on the 'Retirement options' page. Contact the editor.

New Urban options

CollegeTownLife offers listings in the Consultants Directory to New Urban developments in or very near college towns. With populations growing, the quality of infill and new developments is important to all communities. We are excited about the direction in which New Urban developments can take college towns. Student housing developers

CollegeTownLife offers listings in the Consultants Directory to developers of student housing, whether they work in public/private partnerships with institutions of higher education, or are totally private providers. We realize that many colleges/universities have not had the funds available over the last 30, years to add to their on-campus housing options, and that within the last 10 years student housing developers have stepped in to fill a need.
